When I look at this painting, I'm reminded of my life in high school. It's a mix of happy and not so happy, and it makes me realize that both of those make up a whole and that is the way life is.
I really like the use of different materials. The choices made are clearly intentional: some are made to give a specific line quality, texture, cover a larger area, get into details, or make the piece stand out. I enjoy the effort put in that aspect of the painting very much!
